Established by Klara Vanova (2012), co-founder of the first gender neutral salon in the UK, Barberette is a self financed, fully accessible hub, offering affordable, gender neutral haircuts to everyone in an inclusive LGBTQIA+ safe space.

We don't believe in paying extra for your gender, so our pricing is gender-neutral: we charge for the cut you have, not on your gender identity. Our goal is that every one of our clients walks away feeling 100% themselves.

We are proud to have led the way in challenging the gendered pricing stereotypes still on offer around the country and glad to see this approach finally being rolled out across London.

To keep overheads and service costs down, we don’t have a receptionist, so all bookings must be made online via BOOKSY, either here or on the app. Please check the specialisms of the team members when choosing your cut and make sure to read our Terms & Conditions and Cancellation Policy before making an appointment with us.

If you are part of a neurodivergent community or you have requirements that would make your visit easier - e.g. a quieter environment or to face away from the mirror, please leave a client note in the app when you book and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

We are very happy to say that our London salon is 100% vegan, meaning all the products we use are vegan and cruelty free. We also endeavour to work as sustainably as possible.

As a safe space for the LGBTQIA+ community and allies, we regularly work with charities, artists and organisations that help promote the work and well-being of clients. We are constantly looking for meaningful ways to give back, beyond the services we offer.
