The freelance barbers and hairdressers working out of Barberette offer a wide range of creative cuts, though as the shop name suggests, most specialise in shorter hair. If you have longer hair and would like to keep it long or go mid-length for a mullet, wolf cut, bob and more, please check their specialisms before booking. Our hairdresser Louise offers scissor cuts of all lengths and covers longer hair too. All our barbers offer the long to short option. Barbering brings me joy because I can see how happy people are after a good haircut and I get to be creative. I believe that hair has no gender. My chair is a safe space - I want to make sure each client has an experience that leaves them feeling confident and listened to, whatever their chosen style.

I’ve been barbering for 10 years in both Soho and Clapham—especially within the LGBTQ+ community, where I’ve found a safe, vibrant, and inspiring space to do what I love. My background is rooted in traditional barbering though I’m fully skilled in scissor techniques as well.
I’m passionate about textured, bold, and expressive hairstyles, and I love working with clients who are open to stepping outside their comfort zone. Influenced by punk rock, techno, and activism, I bring creativity, authenticity, and a fearless approach to every cut.

I started barbering because i think it’s a very exciting career. Every person and their hair is different and I can always add my little extra touch! I’m also very excited to be working in a safe and inclusive space.

I’ve been cutting hair in London since the 80’s from Covent Garden to Brick Lane. I have always had a clientele from the art world, including Francis Bacon in the 90’s. I offer really good scissor cuts with shapes that grow out well and I want my clients to feel completely relaxed in my chair.
In my spare time I love to relax in my allotment and try to rescue my kale from the slugs! A long walk with my cockapoo then home to watch Liverpool FC win would be a perfect day.

I am the owner of Barberette, founded 2012. My aim is to cut hair that doesn't need a long time to style; my most requested cut is the wash-and-go. I always aim to create something very special: the best standard of barbering in an inclusive and welcoming environment, with gender-neutral pricing.
